It’s time again for another hobby blog, and once more, we go customer edition with Robin’s Dark Elves.(Thank you all, Steve only has so many armies….)
Back in January 2023, the store held a 6 month long “Tale of Four Gamers” event for 6th/7th edition Warhammer Fantasy Battle, where Steve and a few customers would plot out background, army lists, play games and paint miniatures to specific requirements each month, over a 6 month period, with the end goal being a fully painted army. It’s fair to say the event can be considered a resounding success, as, if nothing else, it gave life to Robin’s spectacular Dark Elf Force.
At the time (pre Old World), Warhammer fantasy miniatures were still readily available in the AoS miniature range, so Robin had no issue obtaining her minis and replacing the bases.
In Warhammer Fantasy, Witch Elves are fanatical, deadly warriors of the Dark Elves who worship Khaine, the god of murder. Known for their berserk fighting style and bloodlust, they excel in close combat, wielding poisoned daggers and reveling in the carnage they inflict. Witch Elves serve the Witch King Malekith and are led by Hellebron, the high priestess of Khaine, who demands constant sacrifice to appease their god. Driven by religious fervor, they are ruthless and merciless, making them some of the most feared warriors in Dark Elf society.
Robin also continued using the Daughters of Khaine AoS range to make harpies, which helps tie the army together!
Cold One Knights are elite Dark Elf cavalry in Warhammer Fantasy, renowned for their brutal strength and fearlessness. Mounted on Cold Ones—ferocious, thick-scaled reptilian beasts—they charge into battle with powerful lances, crushing enemies with the sheer weight of their mounts. The Cold Ones are notoriously difficult to control, prone to fits of aggression and stupidity, making only the most skilled and disciplined Dark Elf warriors suited to ride them. Cold One Knights are heavily armored and excel in shock assaults, where their relentless aggression and resilience make them devastating forces on the battlefield.
And where is any army without its rank and file?
We think you’ll agree that Robin’s army is a perfect example of a beautifully painted force that can span multiple editions of Warhammer Fantasy, which is kinda what we’re all about! If you want to see the other forces that participated in our tale of four gamer event, or if you’re a customer that wants to have miniatures featured in a hobby focus, holler at Steve and we’ll make it happen!
